Easter Weekend 2011

Be prepared... this post is going to be overloaded with pictures, pictures, pictures!! Rather then try and separate this fun fulled weekend up in numerous posts I'm going to jumble it all together in one big Easter Basket!

Easter is usually a pretty calm holiday for us, with not a whole lot going on. But not this year! Jilly definitely adds tons of excitement to holidays now-a-days and I get to relish in the joys of being a kid again. I absolutely love it!! Saturday morning we woke up bright and early and decorated our Easter Eggs. Jilly is just one year shy of really understanding this task. Last year Jilly fell asleep decorating eggs but this year she was actually interested in staying awake and watching us decorate! I gave her an egg and a crayon and she slowly started to color on it but truly she was only interested in cracking it open and chowing down. Eggs are her favorite!

Then it was time to get all dolled up and head over to Haley's family Easter picnic. It was a nice day with only a slight breeze in the shade so I really enjoyed the weather and soaked up some sun. Jilly is very mobile since she's mastered the skill of scooting around everywhere. But she's not very fond of grass so instead of being in the middle of everything like she normally is, she stayed back on the blanket with me and just watched the kiddos play. And to top it all off Jilly actually stood by herself for the first time on Saturday!! I'm so proud!! I was laying down on the blanket and Jilly was crawling all over me when all of a sudden I didn't feel any hands on my back. So I turned around and Jilly was just standing there!! Then she promptly flopped down on her bum. haha But it's progress and that's all I continue to ask for. As long as she's still progressing then I have nothing to worry about. Even if she IS 14 months old! haha

Sunday morning we woke up to discover that the Easter bunny had stopped by our home and dropped off some goodies for us. He even remembered to bring her the bouncy ball she's been eyeing at Albertsons for WEEKS (thanks Jake for the late night run to the store Saturday night!!! HAHA). Seriously every time I'd walk into Albertsons they were sitting there right by the carts so of course Jilly spots them and screams "Ball, ball, ball, ball, ball" and points longingly at it. I told her time and time again that maybe the Easter Bunny would bring her one! Well the Easter Bunny had ummmm forgot about it... so the Easter Bunny's helper went out late Saturday night and helped her out. haha Jilly did so good this year finding all her Easter eggs. She was so excited to discover each and every one of them and she was quick to toss them in her basket and proceed on to the next one.

After a quick afternoon nap, we headed over to Aunt Lisa's for an Easter BBQ. I told you we were busy!! It was non-stop! After an early dinner I unwrapped a Crunch bar and let Jilly enjoy some of her Easter candy. I'm so happy we caught this on video. She's such a silly kid.

We had a wonderful and very busy weekend. And now on to the pictures... boy am I glad I'm a picture taking person. I never want to forget any of these special moments.
